This weekend, I had the opportunity to team up with some incredible hornists to perform in the Hampton Horn Quartet in Williamsburg's Merchant's Square. We had binders full of everyone's favorite carols, and we travelled throughout the square, encouraging shoppers to get into the holiday spirit with our festive arrangements! I especially loved playing the carols children requested. It's heartwarming to see how they dance to their favorite tunes and how they are so willing to be silly in public. We could all learn a thing or two from those kiddos!
It was a special gig for me because I got to collaborate with my high school horn teacher, Roger Novak! It's always such a wonderful time to perform with Roger; he's a wonderful player and always brings a smile (and some extra Santa hats!!).
We will be performing again in December at Merchant's Square - be on the lookout for horn players in Santa hats!
